How many times has it happened to me? God only knows! Knowingly or unknowingly day in and day out we ask for wrong things. When they do appear in front of us, we say "oh thats not what I wanted", without realizing we sought them out. Clarity and expectations need to go hand in hand. Its easier said than done.

Its true in all aspects of life. As a student, there should be clarity in thoughts - Am I reading this book because exams are just around the corner? or because its teaching me something, and I'm eager to learn? Did you just accept that new offer letter because the title looks good? or is the new responsibility in line with your planned career? are you sending your kid to another after-school activity because the neighbors are doing the same or do you see your six year old as the next Federer or a Michael Jordan or a next Olympian? Its the clarity in your doings, that send the message from head to heart, and from heart to the results. In my own experience, I have failed miserably at everything I have tried to do because doing that was cool and everyone around me did. It's time to redefine what clarity is. Diamonds are measured in 3 Cs - Cut, Color and Clarity. Clarity, along with other 2 attributes determine how valuable the stone is. Because better the clarity, better the shine. For us to shine as individuals, its time we pause from our routine and think - Am I doing what I'm doing because its cool? or that's what I want to do and am pursuing my passion?
